Abstract

Survey data from an achieved sample of 26 teachers and 96 high school students at SMA Kesatuan Bogor
were used to analyze the correlation between organizational learning factors and students’ behaviour.
Hypothesized as a predominant factor, leadership was analyzed separately from the other factors correlating with
the organizational learning. That is why this study attempted to explore the association among leadership,
organizational learning and students’ behaviour. Using Spearman’s coefficient of Rank Correlation, results
demonstrated two types of relationship between factors studied. On the teachers’ side, there was strong
relationship between principal and active leadership and the organization learning; while on the students’ side,
teachers’ works associated weakly with the students’ behaviour. The weak correlation between the teachers’ works
and students’ behaviour reflected the students’ perception on the quality of teachers’ work in terms of teaching
methodology and the ability to relate school work with its benefit in the future. A recommendation drawn from the
study suggested that the institution should put more attention on staff development to upgrade the staff’s quality
which in turns improves the students’ behaviour in terms of students’ participation in and engagement with the
school.
