PENGARUH LEVEL AFLATOKSIN DAN SUPLEMENTASI PENGIKAT RACUN JAMUR KOMERSIAL DALAM RANSUM TERHADAP PERSENTASE DAN RECAHAN KARKAS AYAM BROILER

The objective of this study was to measure and to compare the carcass percentage of growing broiler fed
on diets containing different level of aflatoxin (B1 and B2) and mycotoxin binder (mycosorb). The
experimental design used was a 4x2 factorial randomized complete design with two different factors
which were aflatoxin level and mycosorb.Thus there were 8 different treatment combinations. The
treatments were control diets, control diets supplemented with mycosorb, diets containing 10 ppb
aflatoxin (B1 and B2), diets containing 10 ppb aflatoxin (B1 and B2) supplemented with mycosorb, diets
containing 25 ppb aflatoxin (B1 and B2), diets containing 25 ppb aflatoxin (B1 and B2) supplemented
with mycosorb, diets containing 60 ppb aflatoxin (B1 and B2), diets containing 60 ppb aflatoxin (B1 and
B2) supplemented with mycosorb. Aflatoxin level in the treatment diets obtained by substitution the
proportion of corn of the control diets with aflatoxin corn. Aflatoxin corn used was naturally
contaminated corn with Aspergillus flavus.A total of 240 one-day-old broilers were used in this
experiment. Variable measured were whole and retailed carcass percentage. The results showed that there
was no interaction (P > 0,05) between aflatoxin level and mycosorb on the whole and retailed carcass
percentages of 35 day broiler chickens. Level of aflatoxin did no affect (P > 0,05) all the carcass
parameters. Mycosorb did not affect (P > 0,05) whole and retailed carcass percentages of 35 day broiler
chickens. In conclusion, low level of aflatoxin (B1 and B2), mycosorb and combination between
aflatoxin and mycosorb in broiler ration did not have a negative impact on all carcass traits of broiler
chickens during 35d experiment. Even though on the low level of aflatoxin in broiler ration did not
influence the carcass percentage of broiler chickens, it is important to further analyse the residue of
aflatoxin in broiler meat in order to guarantee the safety of the chickens which will be consumed.
